We’ve known each other since pre-school and both worked in quantitative trading for a period. We started building together because we had strong belief that models would enable a new paradigm for how we interact with markets. Our main thesis can be summed as: Models & Markets.
Markets, with some strong caveats, are games with nice reward functions and clear rules. At the same time, markets possess a wealth of structured context, both price history and also market commentary, news, etc.
In the status quo, much of a trader or investor’s job is actually digesting and analyzing this abundant context as pretext to making decisions.
We believe that models can be very powerful when applied to these large and varied contexts and in the long-term will be a default when interacting with public or semi-public markets. We’ve picked commodities markets as our first use case.
