Hey Everyone!
Excited to share our story and what we’ve been working on.
When Chan worked on Tesla’s Global Trade team, every car part—bolts, batteries, doors, etc—came from a different country. Each time tariffs shifted (pretty frequently), he and his team had to manually check thousands of parts across hundreds of pages of trade rules. Pair that with meetings with consultants, brokers, & suppliers to get potentially the worst workflow of 2025. All happening within Outlook & Excel 2019.
They tried software, consultants, startups — every one of them got shot down due to reasons like product quality & data security, but mainly that it doesn’t bring enough value.
That’s why we built MarkIt — AI agents that actually do the work for Suppliers, Brokers, and OEMs.
With agents that live where trade professionals already work — Excel, broker portals, and browser — MarkIt helps teams classify products, manage tariffs, and resolve customs issues in seconds, not hours.
MarkIt is intentionally lightweight, and customizable. Previously, without AI, software in this industry was clunky & typically automating a set workflow. Now, MarkIt services all of your workflow needs in a single
Classification: MarkIt can enhance your workflows at scale. Entries are
defensible with thorough reasoning and supporting documents.
OCR: Upload your Bill of Ladings, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and other documents to create your import filings and reports.
Customization: Users can choose to use their own logic, where MarkIt’s platform would simply handle applying it at volume. No more worrying about reasonable care, if you don’t trust AI research.
Build Your Own: MarkIt’s agents can work in files & desktop, applying trade logic in your own customizable way.
Integration: Plug directly into ABIs and ERPs only if you want.
MarkIt is like a coworker specialized in customs & the trade process. Who’s willing to do all of your mindless “dishwashing” work.
We’re looking to connect with anyone who works in Global Trade. Suppliers, customs brokers, manufacturers, e-commerce operators, etc.
