As a GNC Engineering Intern, you will work directly with Reditus Space's engineering team to develop and test GNC algorithms for precision flight and landing of the ENOS vehicle. You will gain direct experience with GNC software development, flight dynamics simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and test GNC algorithms for satellite systems and ground-based analysis
- Develop and improve Reditus Space's 6DOF flight dynamics simulation capability
- Implement real-time and simulated tests of the vehicle flight software
- Collaborate with engineers to derive and satisfy system requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (senior undergraduate or graduate level)
- Strong understanding of flight dynamics and spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control
- Experience programming in Python and C/C++
- Strong intuition for solving highly coupled and complex aerospace problems
- Understanding of reentry vehicle and spacecraft operations
- Flexibility and eagerness to work in a startup environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reentry vehicle and/or spacecraft testing or operations
- Experience with GNC simulation
