Video AI to automatically detect and respond to production line…
At Cerrion, we are building the future of AI-enabled manufacturing. Headquartered in Zurich and backed by Y Combinator and top Silicon Valley investors, we deploy video AI Agents that see what is happening on production floors, spot problems automatically, and intervene in real time to keep production running smoothly at global scale. Our technology is live in factories across 15+ countries, helping leading manufacturers in glass, beverage, food, CPG, building materials, and wood cut downtime by up to 50%. We are at an inflection point and scaling fast.
We are hiring a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to own the technical delivery of customer deployments from scratch to a fully installed, connected, and deployment-ready system. This role sits at the center of hardware installation, IT integration, installers, customers, and internal teams.
You will take over once a deal is closed and hardware logistics are being defined, to plan and drive the installation with the customer, supervise internal or external installers, and ensure all hardware is correctly installed and integrated so the project can be handed over to Customer Success for proof-of-value execution.
This is a senior individual contributor role with high ownership, significant customer exposure, and at least 50% travel , primarily across DACH. This is not a desk-only TPM role. Success requires credibility in real industrial environments.
Own technical delivery post-sale: Take full ownership of the installation and technical setup phase after deal close, driving projects from planning through a hardware-complete, deployment-ready state.
Plan installations with customers: Work directly with customer IT, production, and maintenance teams to define installation timelines, access windows, responsibilities, pre-requisites, and risks.
Document the work: Create installation plans and project management documents to make sure the process is clear and transparent for all stakeholders.
Translate designs into execution plans: Convert high-level deployment designs defined during sales into precise, executable installation plans for installers and contractors.
Act as the single technical point of contact: Own all technical installation and IT integration topics during deployment, proactively managing dependencies across customers, installers, logistics, and internal teams.
Supervise on-site execution: Regularly travel to customer factories to supervise installations performed by Cerrion field engineers or third-party contractors, ensuring work is done safely, according to plan, and on-time.
Validate camera readiness for AI use cases: Ensure each camera is not only installed, but correctly positioned and aligned to enable the intended video AI agent use cases.
Drive IT integration to completion: Coordinate with customer IT teams to resolve networking, connectivity, and access requirements, ensuring the system is technically ready for software deployment.
Solve real-world deployment problems: Identify and resolve installation and integration blockers independently whenever possible, escalating only when necessary.
Confirm readiness and handover: Finalize deployments by confirming all hardware is installed and connected correctly, securing customer acceptance, and handing over clean projects to Engineering and Customer Success.
Improve how Cerrion deploys at scale: Build and maintain technical deployment playbooks, propose process improvements, and contribute ideas for simplifying installation through better hardware, software, and tooling.
Cerrion deployments combine a server and a network of up to 80 IP cameras per plan. Optional components include connectivity modules such as SIM routers or Starlink, loudspeakers, and PLC interfaces with production machines.
Deployments typically involve:
Remote planning: Aligning timelines, site readiness, access, IT requirements, responsibilities, and risks with the customer. In-person site surveys may be beneficial to improve the accuracy of installation planning.
On-site supervision: Overseeing installation work, validating hardware placement and connectivity, resolving blockers, and coordinating between installers and customer teams.
Acceptance and handover: Confirming all hardware is correctly installed and integrated so software deployment and proof of value can begin.
Factories vary widely in layout, constraints, and maturity. You will need to operate comfortably in imperfect, fast-moving environments.
3 to 6 years of experience in technical project management, deployment, or delivery roles involving physical systems.
Hands-on exposure to manufacturing or industrial shop floors , such as automation, electrical systems, machine vision, IIoT, robotics, or similar.
Strong technical judgment: Able to plan installations independently and give precise instructions to installers, even if you are not executing the work yourself.
Basic but solid understanding of industrial networking , including IPs, switches, VLANs, and firewall coordination.
Comfort coordinating IT integration with customer IT teams.
Fluent English and German. German is mandatory due to strong DACH customer focus.
High willingness to travel , at least 50%, and work directly with customers on site.
Ownership mindset: Proactive, structured, and accountable for outcomes, not just plans.
Experience supervising third-party contractors or field teams.
Exposure to PLC environments or machine interfaces.
Experience validating camera placement for computer vision or monitoring use cases.
Additional European languages.
On-time completion of installation and integration milestones.
Short time from hardware delivery to deployment readiness.
Clean handovers with minimal installation-related blockers during software deployment.
High customer satisfaction during the installation phase.
Real ownership: You control one of the most critical phases of our solution lifecycle, turning signed deals into deployable systems.
Customer impact: Be the person who makes deployments actually happen in world-class factories, operating at the intersection of AI, hardware, IT, and industrial production.
Culture : We operate with flat hierarchies and a get‑things‑done mentality. You’ll work with ambitious colleagues from all over the world in a collaborative environment where the best idea wins.
Compensation & equity : Competitive salary, meaningful stock options, and benefits aligned with an early-stage company scaling fast.
Location : Modern office in the heart of Zurich / or work remotely from anywhere in Europe.
If you want to own the hardest part of deploying AI in the real world and thrive in complex, customer-facing industrial environments, we would love to meet you.
Cerrion is a Zurich-based AI startup backed by Y Combinator and leading Silicon Valley investors. Our mission is to help shape the autonomous and sustainable future of manufacturing. To do so we are building AI and human-centered automation that enables everyone on the factory floor to make better and faster decisions. Our team, which consists of AI PhDs, Ex-Googlers and serial entrepreneurs, has built state-of-the-art video-based Computer Vision that is automatically monitoring production lines in more than 7 countries. If you are fascinated by building technology that has direct real impact on industries that affect our day to day life, we're the right place for you.
We are already working with some of the largest manufacturing companies in Europe to help them make their operations more transparent, sustainable and efficient. And we are just getting started: Our goal is to change the status quo and have our video-based AI monitor every every production line around the globe.
